It was ranked top of a list of small towns to retire in by GoBankingRates.com who surveyed communities across the country that have populations between 1,000 and 10,000 residents. Camp Hill scored 92 on its livability index thanks to its low monthly cost of $3,356 and low crime rate of 9.4 per 1,000 residents. Meanwhile Delaware was ranked the best state to retire in thanks to its coastline, favorable tax policies and wellness services. Camp Hill managed to come out on top of the list of 44 best small towns to retire in with its affordability and safety. Around 3,200 households in the area earn a median income of $105,000 and around 15 percent of its population is aged 65 or over. The small town offers a vibrant shopping scene with lots of small businesses owned by women. It is also home to the award-winning library Cleve J. Fredricksen Library and a weekday farmer's market which runs from May to October. While Northville in Michigan was ranked second with a livability score of 86, a monthly cost of living of $3,383 and a crime rate of 6.5 per 1,000 residents.
